Ghost in the Cowl Ghost Exile #1 World of the Ghosts eBook Jonathan Moeller

A great continuation of Caina's adventures, I was a bit worried as to how the series would progress after the grand finale of the Moroaica storyline, but the author does not disappoint. Caina is now exiled to a totally new setting, dealing with both new foes and the emotional fallout of the losses suffered in the previous book.

It's rare that a series is this fun and engaging 10 books in, but the usual issues that occur in most series (hero's status/power creep usually) do not apply to this one.

Ghost in the Cowl Ghost Exile #1 World of the Ghosts eBook Jonathan Moeller Reviews

I loved this series and had no trouble getting caught up in the stories. With so many of the characters missing, this book just doesn't hold my interest.
I read voraciously for pleasure and relaxation....just my type of read....fast but plenty of character development.
I hope this series continues for a long time.
I enjoyed this book the same as i have done for the rest of the ghost series the only fault i can find is that you have to wait for the second to come out if it takes to long you have a tendency to loose interest.
I liked it, but in a way it was like a new start after the killing off of main characters in the last book (that I ddn't think necessary), anyway it will be interesting to see where the author takes the story from here.
Jonathan Moeller is a very talented author and anything he writes in the "Ghost" series is well worth reading. This is great reading to "escape" in. Love his work.
I was a little nervous, at first, when the original Ghost series drew to a close. I'd hoped that Moeller wasn't going to retire his legendary creation. Relieved now.

This first book in the new series is a fantastic start to a new storyline. New villains, new heroes, new Ghosts, and new challenges. All in an entirely new environment. Istarinmul is so very different from Malarae. So much less civilized and orderly. So much slavery, which is particularly abhorrent to Caina.

A good portion of the book deals with her grief over losing Corvallis and Halfdan, and her coming to terms over whether she wants to even continue living at this point. The city she finds herself in is far more dangerous and untidy than her home city, and she has no friends or contacts. By the end of the book she has established a new Ghost Circle, with her first two members. She has also, as usual, blown up or set fire to a dozen places. She has also established her reputation as the Balarigar.

We have a whole new central mystery to explore, a new otherworldly spirit who has attached itself to her, another vaguely mysterious man masquerading as a bard in the coffee house she frequents who has a keen interest in her, and seems to know what she is doing, and a very dangerous opponent.

Because of the short novella published just prior to this book, we know that Kylon will still be in the picture, although he wasn't present in this book. But, he has been tied to the mystery, and it has been established that he has Caina in his thoughts much of the time. I'm happy to see this. Despite the fact that he has married, and appears to be a decent man, I'm firm in the belief that he is the right man for Caina, and will be with her eventually.

Lots of action in this book. Lots of emotional upheaval. Lots of disguises. Lots of danger. What's not to love?
This book continues where the last Ghost book left off. We find our heroin in a dangerous city having to navigate it on her own. This book is an excellent start to a new series for Caina especially since we're introduced to new characters that I like and some that I know will give Caina another hard challenge. P.S. I love the Ghost in the Storm series. These books will need to be read before starting this book.
